George Stamatopoulos is a trial lawyer who represents companies and individuals in high-stakes disputes where technical complexity, financial sophistication, and litigation leverage drive commercial outcomes. His practice focuses on business-critical matters involving complex technologies, financial products, and expert-driven records, including trade secret, patent, and financial litigation.
He has served in key advocacy and strategic roles in jury trials, evidentiary hearings, and adversary proceedings, including patent and trade secret disputes involving network infrastructure, software, mobile devices, and life sciences, as well as disputes involving distressed situations, compensation arrangements, and market-related claims.
His trial experience includes representing Propel Fuels in trade secret litigation resulting in a $604 million jury verdict and an additional $195 million exemplary damages award, as well as former executives of a subsidiary of a major insurer in a bankruptcy adversary proceeding involving deferred compensation claims arising from the 2008 financial crisis.
In these and other matters, George has served as lead counsel at evidentiary hearings and administrative trials, conducted direct and cross-examinations of fact and expert witnesses, developed examination and case strategy, and worked with technical and financial experts to develop and challenge the evidentiary foundations of the claims at issue.
George regularly works directly with clients to develop litigation and pre-litigation strategies in business disputes involving intellectual property, financial misconduct, and cross-border asset recovery. He has represented clients before federal and state courts, bankruptcy courts, the United States International Trade Commission, and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
George has been recognized by IAM Strategy 300 for intellectual property strategy and by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch for intellectual property litigation.
Before entering the legal profession, George worked as a structural engineer. He is fluent in Greek.
