Alexandria Swette is a trial lawyer who represents institutional clients and their executives in high-stakes commercial disputes, internal investigations, and government enforcement actions. Her civil practice covers complex deal litigation, shareholder and partnership disputes, breach of fiduciary duty claims, and securities litigation. She also defends corporations and individuals in criminal and regulatory matters, with substantial experience before the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Her experience extends to congressional inquiries and state enforcement actions, including before state attorneys general and the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). Much of her work arises in the financial technology, data analytics, digital marketing, and other emerging technology sectors.

Ms. Swette's engagements include some of the most closely watched corporate and enforcement matters in recent years. She represented Twitter, Inc. in its expedited Delaware litigation against Elon Musk to enforce his contract to close the US $44 billion acquisition, where she led offensive discovery against Musk's financial advisor, Morgan Stanley, and the 12 banks that agreed to finance the deal. She represented the CEO and founder of GPB Capital through an eight-week criminal trial in the Eastern District of New York, following a multi-agency investigation by the DOJ, SEC, and multiple state regulators, alongside parallel civil actions brought by investors. Ms. Swette also represented a former executive of fintech startup Frank in a six-week criminal trial in the Southern District of New York arising from alleged misrepresentations made in connection with the company's acquisition by JPMorgan Chase. Additional matters include representing Intercontinental Exchange in offensive discovery in connection with the FTC's challenge of its proposed acquisition of Black Knight, and a Fortune 10 healthcare company in opioid-related litigation and investigations across multiple jurisdictions, including the national multidistrict litigation.

Ms. Swette is known for quickly mastering complex technical subject matter and translating it into clear, compelling narratives for judges and juries. She has first-chair experience conducting direct and cross-examinations at trial. Her record spans favorable trial outcomes, pre-charge resolutions achieved by persuading government authorities to decline or drop charges, and settlements negotiated before trial.

Ms. Swette's recognitions reflect both her standing as a litigator and the breadth of her practice. She was named to Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in America (2026), a peer-reviewed recognition of attorneys earlier in their careers, in Commercial Litigation, Criminal Defense: White-Collar, Government Relations Practice, and Health Care Law. Before joining Kobre & Kim, Ms. Swette practiced at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, where she focused on securities class actions, internal investigations, and white-collar defense. She began her legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Francisco A. Besosa of the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
