June 16, 2025

Kobre & Kim’s Kunhee Cho spoke at the 2025 European Conference of the International Association of Korean Lawyers (IAKL), held in Berlin on June 14.

Mr. Cho presented on “Private Credit Enforcement – Strategies in a Volatile Market,” offering practical insights for lenders navigating today’s complex private credit environment, one of the fastest-growing asset classes whose robustness has yet to be fully tested through a credit cycle.

Mr. Cho highlighted the unique risks and enforcement challenges in private credit which is inherently high-risk and limited in exit options for lenders. To enhance enforceability and recoverability of collateral in a default scenario, he emphasised the importance of a comprehensive cross-border plan including enforcement of international judgments and personal guarantees.

Since its founding in 1987, IAKL has served as a platform for lawyers of Korean heritage to collaborate, build community, and exchange ideas across jurisdictions.
