Kobre & Kim’s Michael Ng has been named a finalist for “Intellectual Property Lawyer of the Year” in The Recorder’s 2025 California Legal Awards. The recognition highlights Michael’s trailblazing IP litigation work and reputation for taking on high-stakes, precedent-setting IP and technology disputes.
In an interview for The Recorder, Mr. Ng highlighted his proudest professional achievement over the past year: securing a $604.9 million jury verdict for Propel Fuels Inc. He also shared thoughtful insights on the evolving landscape of IP law:
“IP law is becoming more important, more international, and more integrated into every aspect of business decision-making. […] IP practitioners need to get out of our silos and become core advisers to business leaders. And that includes understanding the cross-border issues at play: We are living in a world that continues to become more interconnected but also watching new walls and regulatory barriers go up at incredible speed. Being effective as an IP practitioner means understanding business needs but also how to navigate the continuing uncertainty.”
Michael’s nomination reflects his commitment to advancing aggressive, conflict-free strategies on behalf of clients facing complex, multijurisdictional IP disputes.
